Isabelle Lundh is the 26-year-old Swedish finalist in the H&M Design Award 2012. She recently graduated from Beckmans College of Design in Stockholm, where she also lives.

Q: What inspires you at the moment?
A: My closest friends and family.
Q: What do you read?
A: The accommodation pages.
Q: Less is more, or the more the merrier?
A: The more the merrier.
Q: What’s your favorite scent?
A: The scent of lemon.
Q: Favorite thing to draw while talking on the phone?
A: I always draw my surname.
Q: Favorite color?
A: At times they’re all beautiful.
Q: Favorite material to work with?
A: All materials.
Q: Describe first item you designed.
A: While sailing with my dad I made dresses of seaweed.

A: The next one…
Q: Favorite fashion designer at the moment?
A: Consuelo Castiglioni at Marni and Albert Elbaz at Lanvin.
Q: Favorite historic fashion designer?
A: Cristobal Balenciaga.
Q: What do you listen to?
A: My wise dad.
Q: What’s your dream, career wise?
A: Getting there is the dream, because the goal is always shifting.
Q: If you had to do something else, what would it be?
A: I don’t know? I guess I would be unemployed!
Q: What lies ahead for students trying to make it in fashion today, compared to 10 or 20 years ago?
A: There’s a lot more of us so I guess the competition is on!
